Hello Parents and Students!
Here's what's going on in 5B this week!
Word Study/Spelling: We are on Lesson 26 Part II this week. Our Latin/Greek Root this week is -tract. The test will be on Friday and it will be the same format as the last few weeks.
Math Accel: We are just about to finish up our nutrition project. We will be finishing up Unit 8 this week and our topics will be comparing ratios and polygons. The Unit 8 test will be early next week.
English Language Arts (ELA): Just as last week, much of our ELA time will be spent doing social studies. However, we will be presenting our Fortunately books this week! This will be a listening/speaking grade. We will also get back to our TFKs this week and we will be finishing up Red Kayak. What a great book that is!
Social Studies: We have just about finished up our War of 1812 project and our Star Spangled Banner close read. Our next topics of discussion will be the Indian Removal Act, the Trail of Tears, Industrial Revolution and the cotton gin.
Science: We will finish up science on Tuesday. We have been working with the microscopes almost non-stop this past week and a half. On Monday and Tuesday we will be viewing both paramecium and euglena. These are live specimen that you can only see with the help of a microscope. Just a reminder that we will be having our parts of a microscope quiz tomorrow.
That's it for now! Have a great week!
Mrs. Bennick :-)
