5B Activities for the Week of June 2, 2014

Hello Parents and Students!

It's the last week of school!  We made it!

Here's what's going on this week:

1.  The Naperville Public Library will be visiting Watts tomorrow to discuss their summer reading program with the kids.

2.  The 5th Grade Farewell is this Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00pm.

3.  The last day of school for students is this Friday, June 6th.  It is a FULL DAY of school.  It is also Field Day.  Please have your child wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle/sunscreen.

This week in the curricular areas, we will just be tying up some loose ends.  We will be finishing up our All About Me from A-Z books.  We will also complete our current social studies project on the Civil War.  The students will be presenting these in their groups mid-week.  We will be reading a variety of picture books and doing various activities with those as well.  Our last day of math is Wednesday.

I hope all of you have a safe, relaxing and enjoyable Summer Break!  It has been a pleasure to teach all of your children this year.  I wish them all the best as they move on to 6th grade in the Fall!

~Mrs. Bennick :-)
