Reminders for this week:
This is a three day week for students. Parent Teacher Conferences will take place this Thursday, February 27th, from 1:00-8:00pm. You have already been contacted if I need to speak with you.
There is no school this day for students.
Also, Friday, February 28th, is a Teacher Institute Day for teachers. There is no student attendance this day.
Here's what's going on in the curricular areas this week:
Word Study/Spelling: We will use these three days to review our six syllable types. There will be no test this week. Enjoy. :-)
Math Accel: We completed our Unit 4 test and the results were amazing! Most students did extremely well. Tests will be passed back on Monday. We will continue on in Unit 5. We are currently working on rational and irrational numbers and integers.
English Language Arts (ELA): We finished the book, The Tiger Rising and will begin our next read-aloud book entitled The Liberation of Gabriel King by K. L. Going. We will continue to work on our Constitution foldable activity during this time and also during social studies time. We will also be presenting our inventions to the class for a listening/speaking grade.
Social Studies: The Constitution foldable will continue this week. I pushed back the due date since the students needed additional class time to work on their inventions last week. The new due date is this Wednesday.
Science: We will be presenting our incredible inventions this week. We will also be completing an Invention's Web Quest that we did not have time to finish last week.
That is it for now. Please email me with questions.
Thank you and have a great week!
~Mrs. Bennick
